Agricultural Overload Cluteh Couplng is a safety device for tractor-drawn agricultural equipment that protects the drive train from overload. Overload coupling consists of a hub, sleeve, and spring-loaded driver cams. They protect the tractor-drawn implements from overload by preventing the drive from disengaging and towing the trailing implement.
Agricultural implements often work under very harsh conditions, and are usually driven by tractors with higher horsepower than is necessary. Overload clutches are important protection against these situations, and they have been around since power takeoff was introduced. Agricultural Overload Cluteh Coupling manufacturers developed four basic types for the industry. A variety of materials and sizes are available, and each has a different application.
The Agricultural Overload Cluteh Couplng is available in various configurations. Figures 5 and 8 show the various configuration options for the coupling. By choosing the right coupling configuration, you can avoid potential damage to the tractor's driveline or to the attached implement. There are many benefits to this design. A couple of drawbacks are that it is more expensive and complex than a conventional coupling.
